I'm the new poster child for early detection!

This was taken at my last chemo treatment on 4/2/09

I feel like this was given to me for one reason....to share with anyone that will listen. Early detection is the key. Cancer isn't always a death sentence. Chemo isn't always as horrible as everyone thinks it is. I love my bald head! I can get ready for work much faster now and have actually almost walked out without putting on my wig! I tell everybody that I now have fake everything, hair, eyelashes & boobs! But I look GREAT! I never wanted to look sickly and I didn't. I have been inspirational to so many people....and always encourage everyone to get their mammograms (or have their loved ones get theirs). When asked how I can be so positive and upbeat, my response is that we can choose how we react to bumps in the road of life. I chose to use humor and tell everyone about it. I couldn't imagine myself sitting home dwelling on the "why me" when I could share my story with others and possibly help save someone's life! I often say that God gave it to the person with the biggest mouth who would tell the most people. Don't be afraid to find something.....be afraid NOT to find it! Besides, I got new boobs for free!
